Adeline June Boraas

Adeline June Boraas, age 94, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Pine Haven Care Center in Pine Island. She was born in Hills, MN on January 19, 1921 to Oscar and Ida (nee Qualley) Sexe.  After graduating from high school Adeline attended and graduated from Mankato State Teachers' College and  worked for several years as a school teacher. Her last teaching position was with the Zumbrota Public School system. On October 19,1947 she married Arnold Boraas at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN. They farmed with Arnold's parents in rural Wanamingo until they purchased the farm and expanded their farming operation. Adeline was always a great source of support on the family farm. Adeline also worked several years at Maple Island in Wanamingo. Adeline enjoyed  shopping with her daughters, gardening, playing cards with family and friends, and traveling.  She delighted in time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she will always be remembered for her patience and kindness to all.  Adeline was a faithful Christian, and a member of Lands Lutheran Church.
Left to treasure her memories are children Dr. A. Bruce Boraas of Minneapolis, MN, Rodney Boraas of Wanamingo, MN,  Renae (Allen) Buck of Oronoco, MN and Dr. Bonita (Steve) Patton of Rochester MN; grandchildren Angela (Mike) Matiash of Plainview, MN, Dr. Matthew (Suparada) Buck of Phoenix, AZ, Blake, Devon, and Miles Patton of Rochester, MN, Andrew Boraas of Minneapolis MN; and great grandchildren Aaron and Caleb Matiash of Plainview.  Adeline was preceded in death by her husband Arnold; sister Ruby Fuecht, and brothers Orland and A J "Bud" Sexe.
Services will be held at Lands Lutheran Church at 11 AM on Thursday, May 28th with Pastor David Krinke officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 27th from 6-8 PM at Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota, and on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
