Anthony J. Wedricka, 93, of Hager City, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Seminary Home in Red Wing. He was born November 20, 1921, in Featherstone Township, to Joseph and Eva Wedricka. He grew up and worked on the family farm before starting work at the SB Foot Tanning Company. He married Lois Jacques in 1938 and she died in 1952. Tony served his country during WWII, serving in US Army from 1944 - 1945. After his service time, he continued working at SB Foot until joining the carpenters union, which he retired from in 1987. He remarried later in life, and spent 20 years together with Marjorie Newman, until her death in 1998. In his retirement, he worked part-time at Econo Foods and McDonalds. Tony was an avid fisherman and gardener.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Schulenberg of Red Wing; grandchildren, Lisa (Chad) Walker of Welch, Dustin (Angie) Schulenberg of Red Wing, Shawn (Ariel) Schulenberg of Huntington, West Virginia and Chris (John) Beebe of Ellsworth; great-grandchildren, Alek and Taylor Schulenberg, Jen Jablonske and Caleb Beebe and step-children, John (Linda) and Michael (Pat) Newman.
He was preceded in death by his wives; sons, Anthony and Sammy Wedricka; brothers, John, William, Joe and Frank Wedrickas and a grandson, Anthony.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Christ Episcopal Church, Red Wing with Rev. Phil McNairy officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Leo C. Peterson #54 will be at Frontenac Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church.
