Bonnie Ruth Martindale, 74, of Hager City, died Friday, May 27, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Ellsworth. She was born on June 3, 1941 in Goodland, Kansas to Archie and Dorothy (Summers) Robinson. She attended schools in Edson, Kansas and lived on the family farm. In 1958 she married Marvin Martindale in Russell Springs, Kansas. Marvin died on October 5, 1999. Together they lived in Clouquet, Minnesota, before moving to Red Wing in 1963 and then to Hager City in 1984. For 30 years she worked at the Red Wing Shoe Company, retiring in 2004. Bonnie was a loving, caring woman with lots of family and friends who will miss her.
Survivors include three children, Guy (Kathy) Martindale, Robin (Bill) Smith and Tony Martindale all of Hager City; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers, Earl (Martha) Robinson of Garden City, Kansas and George (LaVonne) Robinson of Fruita, Colo.; several nieces and nephews and one son-in-law, Earl Crotteau of Clouquet. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Clayton; one daughter, Carol Crotteau and four brothers, Roy, Gene, Burt and infant brother, Harold.
A celebration of life will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday June 10, 2016 at Laurel Presbyterian Church in Hager City. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Red Wing. Online condolences may be sent to www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
