Clarence C. Lunde Jr. age 85, of Goodhue, passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Red Wing Health Center. The funeral service will be on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 11:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue with Pastor Martin Weigand officiating. The visitation will be on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors. Arrangements were made with Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel.
Clarence Carlyle Lunde Jr. was born on December 26, 1931 to Clarence and Helen (Diercks) Lunde in Goodhue, confirmed in Goodhue, and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1949 where he played many sports, but baseball was his greatest love. He married Donna L. Raasch on September 14, 1952 at Grace Lutheran Church rural Goodhue. Clarence enlisted in the Air Force and was station at Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico from January 1951 until July 1954. They returned home to farming in rural Goodhue, after farming held various jobs.
Clarence was a member of the Goodhue Lions Club and Stary Yerka Post 5727 VFW in Zumbrota, MN.
Clarence enjoyed traveling, watching baseball and spending time with family.
Clarence is survived by his five children, Debra (Don) Schliep of Zumbrota, Rebecca (Brad) Holst of Cannon Falls, Susan Heise of Goodhue, Kevin Lunde of Faribault, and Marcus (Lori) Lunde of Zumbrota; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren, brother-in-law, Gerald Meyer of Red Wing, sister-in-law, Joanne Raasch of Goodhue; many nieces and nephews and special friend, Christine Skog.
Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; sister, Bettie Meyer; sister-in-law, Erna Adolphson; brothers-in-law, Frank Raasch and Herbert Adolphson; and his parents.
Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church.
