Clarice M. Oelkers

Clarice M. Oelkers age 81, of Pine Island, formerly of Mazeppa died on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 3:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa with Pastor Alan Horn officiating. Inurnment will be in Mazeppa Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Friday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Clarice Mae Lemmerman was born on June 6, 1934 in rural Hammond to Clarence and Mabel (nee Ferber) Lemmerman. As a young child her family moved to Mazeppa. She was raised in Mazeppa and graduated from Mazeppa High School. On December 26, 1952 she married Harold O. Oelkers in Mazeppa. They made their home in Mazeppa. Clarice worked a variety of jobs while raising her two daughters. In 1970 Harold and Clarice started Harold's Rubbish Removal. Clarice worked alongside Harold in the business, which they sold in 1980. In 1993 they moved to Pine Island and Harold died on March 27, 2012. Clarice enjoyed reading, traveling, playing cards, shopping and antiquing, doing her nails and taking care of her husband Harold. Clarice was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mazeppa.
Clarice is survived by her two daughters, Brenda (Mike) Schultz and Sara (Roger) Markham, both of Mazeppa; grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) Tweed, Matthew (Jill) Markham and Todd Markham; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Haley, Jordon and Axel; sister, Gloria Lemmerman of Inver Grove Heights and brother David (Patty) Lemmerman of Brooksville, FL.
Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; parents, Clarence and Mabel and brother, Weston Lemmerman.
