Dale Stucki

Dale Loren Stucki, 90, of Red Wing died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home. Dale was born on April 4, 1927 to Earl and Frieda (Nobs) Stucki in Mankato, Minn. His family moved to West Concord when he was a small child and graduated from West Concord High School in 1945. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. After his discharge, he returned home and married Gloria Weaver on September 18, 1946 in Claremont, Minn. They then moved to Red Wing where Dale worked at Citizens Fund Insurance Company (later known as Citizen's Security). He retired after working there for 38 years. After retirement, Dale worked part time at Red Wing Coca-Cola and Sturdiwheat. Dale was a long time active member of the First Presbyterian Church where he was part of the Men's Cooking Team, choir, and various other committees. He had a deep love for music and loved to share that with his family and friends. He was able to play multiple instruments and was a member of the Swing Alongs, a country western band, for many years. He also took great enjoyment in volunteering at the T. B. Sheldon Theatre where he was able to see many wonderful performances. Dale also loved to spend time at the family cabin in Trego, Wisc.. Dale was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Red Wing Golden Kiwanis, The Silvertones, and the Leo C. Peterson American Legion Post 54.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Gloria; six children, Dan (Mary) Stucki of Eden Prairie, Steven (Barbara) Stucki of Saint Paul, Denise (Gordon) Fitschen of Red Wing, Jane (Robert) Remlinger of Sebastopol, Cal., Shari Bengs (James Zackary) of Hager City, and Joel (Ronda) Stucki of Red Wing; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a 10th one due in July; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marion Stucki; sister, Lorraine Stucki McCadden; and grandson, Jeffrey Fitschen.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Red Wing. Full military honors will follow the service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Berne Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to the church, Mayo Red Wing Hospice or donor's choice.
