Daniel Charles Dunn of Red Wing, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2014. Dan was 65, born to Charles and Doris (Schlottman) Dunn on August 25, 1949 in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. Dan attended school in a one room school-house in Boyceville, WI until transferring to a larger school in 6th grade. After graduation, Dan moved to Rochester, New York where he worked for a year, returning to Wisconsin to attend Eau Claire Technical College. Earning his degree, he moved to Ellsworth, WI, where he began working as a draftsman engineer for Meyer Industries (Thomas and Betts). After more than four decades, Dan crafted his final project as a Product Estimator; retiring from Thomas and Betts in July 2014.
In his spare time, Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering, and camping with family. Dan had a love for bald eagles, and was always on the look-out, collecting art and carvings. Dan had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making practical jokes. His children remember with fondness their father's business trips to Sesame Street! Able to combine his mechanical ability and creativity, Dan's lawnmower go-carts were the envy of the neighborhood kids.
Dan is survived by his three children, Tamara Lyn Harvanko of Burnsville, Trevor Ryan (Deborah) Dunn of Hudson, WI, and Mitchell Scott Dunn of Red Wing; six grandchildren, Elliot and Izak Harvanko, Ryan and Killian Dunn, Parker and Aleah Dunn; one sister, Linda (Joe) Rammer; and two brothers, Dale (Kathy) Dunn and Gary (Becky) Dunn.
