Donald Richard Rohrer

Donald Richard Rohrer, 88, of Red Wing died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Red Wing Health Center. He was born on October 11, 1926 in Minneapolis to Anton and Viola (Skarvedt) Rohrer. He graduated from John Marshall High School and the University of Minnesota, both in Minneapolis. Don married Gene A. McWaters in 1947 and they lived in Edina. He served in the Merchant Marine Corps and for 36 years worked for O.D. Hauschild retiring in 1985. After retirement they moved to Red Wing. Don volunteered for many years at the Sheldon Theater and Southeast Technical College. He also enjoyed fishing.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gene; daughter-in-law, Laurel Rohrer of Stillwater; two grandchildren, Daniel and Heather Rohrer; one sister, Beverly Reichert of Maple Grove and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Rohrer, Jr; parents; brother, Robert Rohrer and one sister, Lillian Carlson.
