Donald E. Stemen

Donald Eugene Stemen, 85, of Red Wing, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Red Wing Healthcare Community. He was born September 13, 1930, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Darle and Theresia (Bonifas) Stemen. He graduated from high school at Central Catholic School in Ft. Wayne and then served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. On August 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mary King and they lived in various places before moving to Red Wing in 1972. He had worked for JC Penny prior to beginning his career with Jostens, where he worked until his retirement. Following retirement, he and Mary moved to Arizona, where they lived for 13 years, returning to Red Wing in 2013. Donald was a past member of the Red Wing School Board and YMCA Board of Directors. He enjoyed working on his computer, spending time with his family and had a great love of cars.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; three children, Vance (Jenni) Stemen of Goodhue, Jan (Kirby) Anderson of Red Wing and Brian (Stan) Stemen of Minneapolis; five grandchildren, Adam, Mac and Ian Stemen and Ali and Carson Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
