Erma L. Rogers

March 24, 1913 — June 19, 2016

Erma L Rogers, age 103, of Pine Island, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Pine Haven Care Center. A funeral service will be held at United Methodist Church in Pine Island at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rick Ormsby officiating. A visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements were made with Mahn Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel, Pine Island.
Erma Leone Rogers was born on March 24, 1913 in Austin to Roy and Jessie (Patterson) Rogers. She grew up in Dodge Center, Byron and Claremont areas and attended Cannon Falls School thru 8th grade. Erma worked at several places throughout her life including, Erdman's in Kasson, Piggly-Wiggly in Rochester, Methodist Hospital, and the Continental Bakery. Erma retired in the later part of the 1970's. Erma loved to help people and give out rides for those who needed them. She was strong in her faith and went to church every Sunday. Erma was a member of the Pine Island United Methodist Church and the Pine Island Senior Citizens. Erma enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family who will always remember her fondly as the great aunt who always had time to play cards and never ran out of chocolate chip banana bread.
Erma is survived by her sister, Lois (Bob) Lindahl of Pine Island, nieces, Lu Ann (Dick) Trumble of Portsmith, VA. and Deb (Ron) Ruegg of Alexandria; nephews, Scott (Diane) Lindahl of Pine Island and Brian (Kathy) Lindahl of Chino Valley, AZ.; and many great nieces and nephews.
Erma was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Kramer and Lucetta Cain; niece, Carol Olsen; and nephew, Jerry Cain.
Memorials preferred to Pine Haven Auxiliary or Pine Island United Methodist Church.
