Evelyn Viola Lortscher

Evelyn Viola Lortscher, 92, of Lake City passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Lake City Care Center. She was born on July 18, 1922 in Stockholm, WI to Lloyd and Tille (Stromquist) Edlin. She grew up in the area and attended Stockholm schools. She married Earl Lortscher on October 28, 1940 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City. The couple farmed in the area for a time and raised one son, Dennis. Later, Evelyn worked at the Lake City Hospital for over 25 years as a cook. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies' Aide Society. She enjoyed volunteer work, golfing, bowling, and travelling. Later, she loved to watch baseball, watch birds, and play cards and bingo at the nursing home. Evelyn will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Dennis (Judy) Lortscher of Lake City; two grandchildren, Brock (Chasity) Lortscher and Holly Pfeilsticker, both of Lake City; and three great-grandsons, Dylan and Michael Pfeilsticker and Nick Albrecht.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; two brothers, Donald and Quentin Edlin; and two sisters, Fern Lostetter and Erma Schroder.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Dennis Valleau officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel - Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
