Floyd Frank Nardinger

Floyd Frank Nardinger, 94, of Lake City, died Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Bluffs Senior Living of Lake City. Floyd was born November 11, 1923 to William and Eva (Liffrig) Nardinger in Chester Township, Wabasha County. He attended country school in Chester Township and parochial school at St. Mary's Church in Bellechester until 8th grade and then began farming. He married Arvilla Polzin on February 27, 1960 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. Floyd was born and raised on the family farm and continued to farm until 1998. In 1965 he started his own trucking business where he hauled sand, gravel, dirt, plowed snow, and sanded roads. He later added two semis for grain hauling until retiring from that in 1989. He was a longtime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, and then became a member of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City. Floyd loved to play cards, dice, and collect model tractors and cars - replicating the ones he owned. He enjoyed Monday trips to the casino, drives through the country, and his daily visits with his coffee group. Floyd and Arvilla shared a love for music and dancing, many of their trips revolved around dancing. He enjoyed passing down his love of music and dancing to his children and grandchildren.
Floyd is survived by his wife, Arvilla; children, Donna (Daniel) Stamschror of Lake City, Lynn (Margaret) Nardinger of Mazeppa, Wanda (Rob) Redmann of Rochester, Brenda (William) Gadient of Goodhue, Pauline (Donny) Warehime of Wasioja, and Yvonne (Chris) Schneider of Hayfield; grandchildren, Nicholas (Sara) Nardinger, Laura (Josh) Peterson, Aaron (Tammy) Prebe, Gabrielle Prebe, Jacob (Corissa Fosberg) Prebe, Nathan Prebe, Alicia (Nick) Zorn, Joel Gadient, Travis Gadient, Taylor Nardinger, Samantha (Derik) Flotterud, Dustin (Megan Hanson) Majerus, Jordon Majerus, Natallia Schneider, Sara (Jamil) Stamschror Lott, Justin (Kate) Stamschror, Jacob (Jess) Warehime, and Adam Warehime; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Darrell Nardinger; a grandson, Brendan Gadient; a granddaughter, Monica Gadient; four brothers, Wilmer, John, Walter, and Lloyd Nardinger; four sisters, Evelyn Rusch, Viola Roemer, Janet Freiheit, and Alice Rusch; and two infant siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Floyd will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester with Father Randal Kasel presiding. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place at the St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Bellechester. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
