Francisco "Poncho" Jimenez, 47, of Goodhue, died Wednesday, March 17, 2015 at St. Mary's in Rochester. He was born January 12, 1968 in Valle de Santiago, Guanajuato, Mexico to Alfredo and Ramona (Arreguin) Jimenez. He grew up and attended school in Mexico before immigrating to California. He then moved Dundas, Minn and finally to Goodhue where he met Valerie Parker. After more than 10 years together the two were married on April 5, 2013. Poncho enjoyed fishing and gardening, particularly experimenting with different varieties of peppers. He also loved to host Barbeques where he enjoyed visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Val; children, Josh (Kristy) Meyer, Jacob Parker, Jean (Joel) Murillo and Jody (Fidel) Parker all of Goodhue; adopted family, Tina and Jaxx; 12 grandchildren, Jate, Hunter, Collin, Sofia, Olivia, Jose, Malakye, Makya, Gustavo, Deeana, Adan, Elleanna and one granddaughter on the way, Juliana; father, Alfredo; four brothers, Manuel of Mexico, Jesus of Mexico, Jose of Mexico and Alfredo of Owatonna; three sisters, Maria of Washington, Lilia of Dundas, Minn and Reyna of Owatonna; special family; Jessica and Vivianna Hernandez Garcia and Evelia Garcia-Jimenez; as well as many nieces and nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Deacon Pat Evans officiating. Burial to follow at Oakwood. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, March 22, 2015 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com
