Fred James Mark

Fred J. Mark, age 95, of Zumbrota died peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Zumbrota Health Services. A graveside service will be on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Zumbrota Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Margaret Pleis-Sippola officiating. The memorial service will be Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:00 am at United Redeemer Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Reverend Dr. Margaret Pleis-Sippola officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Fred James Mark was born on October 6, 19
21 to Chester and Hazel (McAlonan) Mark. He was born and raised on the family farm in Zumbrota. He graduated from Zumbrota High School and farmed the family farm until 2008 when he moved to the Zumbrota Care Center. Fred also worked for Henning Produce as a route driver for over 20 years, delivered food for Meals on Wheels and volunteered as a driver in the community to assist people to their doctor appointments. He was a member of the 65-50 club and United Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Fred enjoyed bowling, going to baseball games, playing 500, teaching kids how to help on the farm, and spending time with family.
Fred is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Helen (Herbert) Sorby, John C. (Judy) Mark, Janet Ofstie, Mary (Howard) Ayen all of MN, Lee Mark, Marnie (Douglas) Gustafson, and Richard Mark all of CA; and sister-in-law, Doris Mark of CA.
Fred was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret, Donna and infant, Florence Mark; and three brothers, Clyde, John D. and Forest "Sam" Mark.
Arrangements are with the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.
Memorials preferred to United Redeemer Lutheran Church or charity of donor's choice.
