Frederick G. Sprick, age 84, of Lake City passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Mayo Health System Lake City Hospital.
He was born on July 30, 1931, in Lake City, MN, to Raymond & Laura (Leiter) Sprick. Frederick grew up in the Lake City area. Frederick entered the Army and served from 1952 to 1954. Frederick married Alice Kehren October 8, 1955 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, MN. After they were married they lived in the Lake City area. He worked as a bricklayer throughout Minnesota and was a member of the International Bricklayers & Allied Craft Workers Union. He was a avid hunter and car enthusiast. He loved his animals and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; sons, Thomas, Charlie and Joe Sprick all of Lake City and daughter, Doralee Sprick of Ft. Worth, TX; son-in law, Gary Glander of Oak Center; grandsons, Brian (Cheri) Glander of Lake City, Cory Glander of Dubuque, IA, Todd Glander of Apple Valley and Micah Blackwood of Lake City; great-grandchildren, Mitchell (Lydia), Matt and Samantha Blattner; and great-great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Destiny. He was preceded in death by daughter, Laura Glander; two brothers, Willard & Orville Sprick; two sisters, Janice Klindworth and Marilyn Klindworth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 20, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake City, MN with Father Joseph Pete officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at Mahn Family Funeral Home Anderson-Peterson Chapel Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church. Military Rites will be by VFW Post 8729 and American Legion Post 110.
