Glenn O. Froyum

June 21, 1933 — February 1, 2018

Glenn O. Froyum, age 84 of Wanamingo died suddenly while working at Maple Island Creamery on Thursday, February 1, 2018. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor David Krinke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Glenn Oray Froyum was born on June 21, 1933 in Minneola Township, Goodhue County, MN to Floyd and Selma (nee Syverson) Froyum. He grew up on the family farm, attended country school and graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1951. Glenn started working at the Roscoe Center Cheese Factory. On June 11, 1966, Glenn started working at Maple Island Creamery in Wanamingo. Glenn was still working there at the time of his death. On July 28, 1979 he married Doris J. Forsell in Randolph. Following their marriage they lived in Wanamingo and besides working at Maple Island, Glenn farmed and had milk cows. They enjoyed polka dancing and were nominated King and Queen of Polka America in 1984-1985. Doris passed away on November 4, 2007. Glenn enjoyed polka music and dancing, gardening, old tractors, listening to old time music and watching old shows on the TV.
Glenn is survived by three daughters, Barb Groth of Cannon Falls, Beverly (Donald) Otte of Randolph and Brenda (Steve) Fuller of Baldwin, WI; one son, Bradley (Linette) Forsell of Osakis, MN; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; two sisters, Sylvia Swanson and Judith Ford, both of Rochester; sister-in-law. Loretta Froyum of Wanamingo and many nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents, Floyd and Selma; brother, James Froyum and son, Bruce Forsell.
Memorials are preferred to Lands Lutheran Church.
