Glenn Dale Holden, 69, of Red Wing, died October 14, 2014 at his home. He was born September 5, 1945 in Red Wing, Minn. to James and Florence Holden. He grew up and attended school in Red Wing. He married Deb Lundberg and they later divorced. Glenn began working construction and helped to build the Red Wing Public Library. He worked at the Fleischmann's Malting Company before moving on to Durkee Atwood. He then worked at Bergquist for many years. He was very well liked at work by the ladies because he would give out "kisses" and butterscotch discs. His hobbies included playing cards and making bird houses and lamps. He was an old car enthusiast and particularly liked '57 Chevys and Bel Airs. He also was an avid Minnesota Viking's fan.
He is survived by his children, Mary Holden and Phillip Holden, both of Red Wing; one granddaughter, Aurora Holden; four siblings, LaVonne (Paul) Jennings of White Rock, James (Doc) Holden, Jr. of Red Wing, Dennis (Pinky) Holden of Red Wing and Betty Holden of Red Wing; his dog, Bud; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, five siblings, Marvin (Sam) Holden, Evelyn (Tootie) Hayes, Pat Albrecht, Helen (Bubby) Johnson and Irene Albrecht.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at United Lutheran Church with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
