Harriet Ann Quarnstrom, 97, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Red Wing Health Center. She was born on July 25, 1920, in Burlington, Vermont to Alban and Alice (Harriman) Parker. She graduated from University of Vermont and then served in the US Army during World War II. She met Ward Quarnstrom in the service and they were married on April 30, 1945 in England. They lived in Minneapolis and Duluth before moving to Red Wing 1987. Ward died on September 28, 1991. For many years Ann worked for Red Wing Hospice and was a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, reading, traveling and attended many military reunions.
Ann is survived by two children, Susan Lund of Roseville and Alan (Linda) Quarnstrom of Red Wing; one grandson, Jeremy Plaisance of Columbia Heights and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother, Richard Parker.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Arte Sharot officiating. Burial will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minneapolis. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to Heartland Hospice.
