Janet Ellen Marklevits

Janet Ellen Marklevits, 84, of Red Wing, died February 13, 2017 at Cottagewood Memory Care in Rochester. She was born February 3, 1933 in Red Wing to John and Wava (Lopp) Wills. She was later adopted by George and Augusta (Jablonski) Goldsmith. She attended Red Wing Central High School, graduating in 1951. On June 26, 1951, she married David L. Marklevits. She worked for Medical Block Clinic, Dr. Billings and later, St. John's Hospital until retiring. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Janet loved spending time with her family, baking, canning, sewing, embroidery and upholstery work.
She is survived by her three children; David G. (Shelly) of Hager City, Wis., Terry (Julie) of Red Wing and Beth (Robert) Scrimshaw of Rochester; 16 grandchildren; Ron Marklevits, Jaymie (Joe Bonilla) Marklevits, Farah (Jim van Howe) Marklevits, Joshua (Alicia) Marklevits, Katrina (Rob Stroud) Marklevits, Cory Marklevits, Jenna Marklevits, Shannon Bolland, Brock (Tara) Marklevits, Phil (Sara) Marklevits, Courtney (Nicholas) Lindman, Sean (Catherine), Jason, Patrick (Christina), Kendall and Carter Scrimshaw; 20 great grandchildren, Logan and Mason Marklevits, Jordyn and Jasmyn Bonilla, Ella Bushey, Jaylin Marklevits, Miah Carrigan, Eloise and Nora van Howe, Ayva and Autumn Marklevits, Evan, Matthew and Emma Bolland, Croix and Connor Lindman, Jade and Ella Scrimshaw, Seth Scrimshaw, Tate Marklevits; three sisters, Glennis (LeRoy) Steffenhagen of Oconto, Wis., Joan Beagle of Tucson Ariz. and Wilhelmina (Edwin) Schmit of Kellogg, Minn.
She is preceded in death by her husband, David; parents; one brother, John "Jack" Wills; son, Michael Marklevits and grandson, Connor Scrimshaw.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Red Wing with visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Burial at Burnside. Memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
