Joseph Owen Townsend

Joseph Owen Townsend, 73, of Bay City, Wisconsin, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born April 21, 1944, in Tacoma, Washington, to William and Lucille (Lehr) Townsend. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School and enlisted in the Army Reserves until he was honorably discharged. He started his own businesses, Joe's Shop on Wheels and then Joe's Auto in Bay City, which he owned and operated until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Bay City; daughter, Robin (Gregg) Stricke of Rochester; granddaughter, Shelby Sangren; brother, Allen (Marlyce) of Lund and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
