June Ruth Ferrie, 95, of Red Wing, passed away Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 at her home at Potter Ridge. She was born June 6, 1919, to Fred and Alvina Collins in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She married Gordon Ferrie on July 21, 1945 in Milwaukee. Over their marriage, they lived in Wisconsin, Missouri, Michigan and Minnesota. Family was always very important to her but in addition, June had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed anytime at the lake, particularly fishing. She loved going to Florida in the winter months, where she would spend time in the Ft. Meyers area. She enjoyed working with Hallstrom's Florist and Nursery for several years and she also volunteered for the Ladies Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her four children, Judy (Hank) Felice of Burnsville, David (Joyce) Ferrie of Englewood, FL, Susan Barry of Red Wing and Nancy (Steve) Vircks of Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Alvina Collins; husband, Gordon Ferrie; brother, Grant Collings; son-in-law, Tom Barry
