Kevin H. Kelsey age 63, of Pine Island died on Saturday, February 3, 2108 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital - Rochester, St. Marys Campus. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota. Burial at a later date will in the Mazeppa Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel and on Friday for one hour prior to the service.
Kevin H. Kelsey was born on November 23, 1954 in St. Paul, MN to George E. and Jacqueline J. (nee Verdick) Kelsey. He grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Concordia Academy in 1972. Kevin served in the United States Air Force and after his discharge, starting working as a cook. On August 16, 1986 he married Brandi L. Daleiden in Bay City, WI. They lived in Maiden Rock, WI for one year before moving to South St. Paul. Kevin worked at Pannenkoeken Restaurant while they lived in South St. Paul. In 1995 they moved to Mazeppa where they owned and operated Kelsey's Kitchen. After ten years, they sold the business and Kevin worked for Veolia Environmental Service for about eight years before starting to work for CHS, where he was employed at the time of his death. Kevin enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends and rooting for MN sports teams, especially the Twins and Vikings.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Brandi; children, Brea Kelsey, Ashley Kelsey and Kyle (Samantha Umbaugh) Kelsey; two grandchildren; mother, Jacky Meyers of Wanamingo; brother, Mark Kelsey of Rochester; sisters, Kim Kelsey of NY and Colleen Murphy of AZ and many nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father, George Kelsey; brother, Mike Kelsey and step-father, Jerry Meyers.
