Larry Hoops

Larry Mark Hoops, age 58, of Lake City passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at his home. He was born on March 2, 1956 in Lake City to Chester and LaVonne (Ondler) Hoops. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1975 and went to school for diesel truck mechanics. He married Diane Kronebusch on August 28, 1976 at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church. Larry had numerous places of employment while he farmed part-time on the family farm in Gillford Township. He worked for Filmore Express for 20 years before retiring in 2006. He then farmed full-time up until his death. He was a lifelong member of Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church. Larry enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved his family and friends and spending time on the farm.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Diane; daughter Jennifer (Jack) Weyer of Lake City; son, Matthew (Erica Halder) Hoops of Lake City; four grandchildren, Jackson, Jenna, Jolee, and Joslyn Weyer, all of Lake City; brother, Kenneth (Mary) Hoops of Lake City; and sister, Kathleen (Paul) Vining of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Lincoln Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Daniel Reich officiating. Burial will follow at Lincoln Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
