Lawrence "Larry" Glen Dale Wiberg, 84, Red Wing, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Seminary Home. He was born August 6, 1930, in Cannon Falls, MN, the son of Christ and Dencie (Campbell) Wiberg. He moved to Red Wing when he was 5 years of age and he attended Red Wing schools. He entered the U. S. Army and served with the Red Wing National Guard from 1950 to 1951. He married Catherine "Katie" Redding on July 18, 1953 in Northwood, IA. They resided in Red Wing, Bay City and Plum City where he owned and operated the Center Bar. He worked at Durkee Atwood in Red Wing for 30 years and, after retiring, he worked at Thrifty White Drug part-time. He enjoyed working on his Model-A and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine "Katie" of Red Wing; four children, Duane (Sheree)Wiberg of Bay City, Carmen Steffenhagen, Jay and Wade (Karen) Wiberg, all of Red Wing; two grandchildren, Alisha Chapman and Troy Yotter; one sister, Lola Nelson of Vasa and his beloved dog, Jake. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arnold and Floyd Wiberg.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014, at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Michael Dobbins officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Leo C. Peterson American Legion post# 54 after the service. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
