Lee Steven Winberg, 64, of Red Wing, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his home. He was born April 24, 1951 in Red Wing to Milton and June (Marklevits) Winberg. He grew up in and attended school in Red Wing, graduating from Red Wing Central High School in 1969. After school he worked, along with his father, at NSP. He was a skilled craftsman and a longtime member of the Carpenters Local 322 in St. Paul. He also worked for local contractors in Red Wing. Most recently, he retired from Capital Safety where he did maintenance work. Following his retirement he volunteered with REM Minnesota. Lee was an outdoorsman who enjoyed motorcycle hill climbing, hunting, fishing and flower and vegetable gardening. He loved dogs, especially his chocolate labs. He was also a hot rod car enthusiast and the proud owner of a red Corvette.
Lee is survived by his five siblings, Mary Pille of Sarasota, Florida, Paul (Maureen) of Red Wing, Terry (Janet) of Stillwater, Rosanne (Larry) Stumpf of Red Wing and Alan (Susan) of Red Wing; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be 7 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Rev. Barbara von Haaren officiating. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice.
