LeRoy William Duden, 83, of Red Wing, died peacefully Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Seminary Home. He was born on April 30, 1931 in Jacksonville, MN to Lawrence and Johannah (Gluesen) Duden. He married Hazel Haradon on February 27, 1954 in Lake City. He worked for Durkee Atwood, Dayco, and Pirelli for over 40 years. He also farmed for much of his life and raised horses. Hazel died on January 20, 2009. He enjoyed going to auctions and scrapping, along with going on horse wagon and trail rides. He also enjoyed spending time with family and playing cards.
He is survived by his five children, Donna (Roger) Swanson of Lund, Wis., Ann (Kenny) Coward of Baldwin, Wis., Julia (Doug) Rother of Welch, Gene (Laurie) Duden of Kenyon and Russell (Dawn) Duden of Stockholm, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; five siblings, Gladys Truebenbach, Florence Juers, Marian (Arnold) Burr, Delores (David) Sanborn and Darlene (Phil) Griffith. He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; one great granddaughter, Marley Rother; six brothers and one sister, Alvin, Norman, Harry, Harley, Elmer, Leslie and Janice Plank; his parents and step mother, Grace Duden
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel in Lake City with Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Lake City. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
