Lyle W. Groth, 62, of Red Wing, passed away at his home on Monday, March 12, 2018, after a courageous six month battle with cancer. He was born August 28, 1955 in Zumbrota to Victor and Florence (Conrad) Groth. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School - Hay Creek and graduated from Goodhue High School in 1974. He worked at Prairie Island Nuclear Plant as security for 35 years. He worked at Treasure Island until illness forced him to quit. Lyle enjoyed collecting and refurbishing antique tractors. He loved the outdoors, especially boating and fishing.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Louis. He is survived by brothers, Larry (LuRene) Groth and LeRoy Groth, both of Red Wing; sisters, Luella (Fred) Kamrowski of McGregor, MN and Linda Scheitel of Red Wing; nephews, Aaron Groth and Charlie Scheitel Jr.; nieces, Melissa Evans, Jennifer Loos, and Charlene Scheitel; and his dog, Mack.
A private family service will be held on Thursday, March 15. Burial will be at a later date at Hope Cemetery in Featherstone Township.
