Marian Genevieve Bjorngaard, 95, of Red Wing, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Red Wing. She was born January 30, 1923 in Red Wing to Anthony and Myrtle (Carlson) Goodman. She graduated from Red Wing High School in 1941, and then began working as a telephone operator for a few years. She married Archie Bjorngaard on June 28, 1947 in Zumbrota. They lived in Goodhue for a few years, then moved to Red Wing in the summer of 1952. She did house cleaning for a number of families in the area. Marian was a member of United Lutheran Church and the Red Wing Redman Club. She enjoyed camping, reading, watching t.v. and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Evelyn) of St. Claire Shores, MI, Carol (Rodney) Schmidt of Frontenac, and Bonnie (Bill) Lauchlan of Red Wing; 7 grandchildren, Elaine, Amanda, Jennifer, Paul, Leah, Tara, Deana; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Goodman of Red Wing; sister, Grace Danielson of Hastings; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Archie.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
