Marie A. Musselman, age 79 of Zumbro Falls, Minnesota died from a brain tumor at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 6, 2014.
Marie Alvina Thiel was born on June 13, 1935 in Davenport, IA the daughter of Kurt Thiel and Adele Bochwoldt. She attended school in the Davenport area and graduated from Davenport High School. She then completed nursing school at Moline Public Moline, IL. She was a registered nurse and worked various places in Illinois. Marie and Donald C. Musselman were united in marriage in Evanston, IL on February 18, 1961. Don and Marie lived in Libertyville, IL and Marie worked at Condell Hospital, retiring in 1991. Following her retirement Marie worked for Abbott Pharmaceutical in Des Plaines, IL. The couple moved to Zumbro Falls in 1994 to be closer to their grandchildren. Marie was a breast cancer survivor of 18 years. Marie enjoyed sewing and gardening and especially loved caring for her family.
Marie is survived by her husband of 53 years: Don Musselman of Zumbro Falls, MN , her son: Wayne (Laurie) Musselman of Wanamingo, MN and three grandchildren: Joshua Musselman of St. Cloud, MN, Anne Musselman of St. Cloud, MN and Matthew Musselman of Wahpeton, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be given to the Cancer society in Marie Musselman's name.
Private graveside services for Marie will be held at a later date.
Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel of Zumbrota is assisting the family with arrangements.
