Marjorie "Marge" L. Gamm, 91, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at her home. She was born November 24, 1924, in Red Wing, to John and Ethel (Olson) Schroer and graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1942. She married John Gamm of Lake City, on September 7, 1946, and they lived in Red Wing for many years, where she worked at Northwestern Bell. In 1951, they moved to Bear Valley, near Oak Center, where they farmed. In 1966 they moved to Rochester where she worked at the Mayo Clinic for 24 years.
Marge had a great sense of humor but was also very determined and stubborn and was loved by all. She enjoyed reading and knitting. More than anything else, she loved animals, especially her dog, Jack.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and her friend to the end, Marian Dexter. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John; a son, Michael; daughter, Wendy; her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Oakwood Cemetery in Lake City with Rev. Duane Holst officiating. Arrangements handled by Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson Peterson Chapel, Lake City. Memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice.
