Marvin Ernest Jablonske, 82, of Red Wing, died Thursday, December 28, 2017, at St Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was born on August 20, 1935, in Red Wing to Ernest and Viola (Wills) Jablonske. He attended Faribault School for the Deaf and then worked a few years for a bakery in Red Wing. He then worked 40 years for Red Wing Shoe Company, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Everyone that knew Marvin will remember him as a friendly and happy man. He enjoyed fishing and even had a fishing camp at Lake Wapogassett in Amery, Wisconsin. He loved to travel with his siblings going to Hawaii, Arizona and on cruises. He always enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid Vikings and Twins fan.
Survivors include three siblings, Maurice (Marcia) Jablonske of Red Wing, Dennis Jablonske of Red Wing and Sheryle (Ken) Wood of Hager City, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister-in-law, Janet Jablonske.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Dana Jackson officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic's Alzheimer's or cardiovascular research projects.
