Meldora Myran

Meldora N. Myran age 93, of Wanamingo, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Zumbrota Health Service Center surrounded by family. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at Lands Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor David Krinke officiating. The visitation will be on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour on Tuesday before the service at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Meldora Shelstad was born on March 26, 1923 to Ludvig and Clara (Benson) Shelstad in Roscoe Township. She attended Wanamingo High School and graduated in 1940. Meldora married Gust Myran on November 24, 1943 at Lands Lutheran Church. Meldora worked as a waitress at the local Wanamingo Café for 35 years and lived in Wanamingo her whole life. She was a life-long member of Lands Lutheran Church. She was active in Sons of Norway, Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Den Mother, and Wanamingo Historical Society.

Meldora enjoyed coffee time and visiting with friends, dancing with Gust on Saturday nights, playing "Rook", "Don't Get Mad" and "Skip bo" with her grandkids and great-grandkids, and spending time with family.

Meldora is survived by her six children, Donna (Roger) Skattum, Marti (Steve) Casler, Lila (Don) Tix, Gus (Nancy) Myran, Molly (Dana) Babbitt and Mark (Liz) Myran; fourteen grandchildren; twenty two and a half great-grandchildren; sister, Ruthel Zalky; brother, Arland Shelstad; and many nieces and nephews.

Meldora was preceded in death by her husband, Gust Myran; grandson, Aric Babbitt; four sisters and two brothers.

Memorials are preferred to the Lands Lutheran Church - Building Fund.
