Mitcheal "Mitch" Prescott

November 30, 1961 — March 15, 2017

Mitcheal Todd Prescott, beloved husband, father, and friend, broke the bonds of cancer and celebrated his continuation day on March 15th, 2017 at his home in Red Wing. He was 55 years old. Mitch was born on November 30th, 1961 in Broken Bow, Nebraska. He was the youngest son of Virgil and Jane (Ash) Prescott. The Prescott family later moved from Broken Bow to Kenesaw, Nebraska where Mitch attended school. Mitch was more interested in nature, fishing, and hunting than school, and frequented many fishing holes in rural Nebraska. He had a zest for life and loved to have fun. A bit of a daredevil, he worked the high towers as a transmission lineman in New York, and Massachusetts. It was during this time that he met his best friend and soul mate, Deb. They were married on April 1st, 1990 at Hastings, Nebraska. To this union two sons were born, Mitcheal, and Evan. The family started out in Kenesaw and later moved their family, as well as an entire two-story house, to Glenvil, Nebraska. Here they lived for a few years until moving to Red Wing Minnesota in 1998. Mitch, Deb, Mitcheal, and Evan loved the river and bluffs, spending lots of time hiking, fishing, and camping. Mitch could "catch fish in the desert" was a comment made many times. Mitch was active in Troop 31 Boy Scouts, and went on many of the trips and made some good friends during this time. Mitch was a gifted singer and he loved music. He was a self taught guitarist and played at open mics, and once at the Red Wing Farmers Market. He was a kind and patient father not only to Mitcheal and Evan, but to many of their friends as well. He had a great sense of humor and made sure to make Deb and others laugh every day. His greatest love and accomplishment was his family, and there was no place he would rather be. Mitch was always a worker and rarely missed a day. He worked for Plaas Mechanical of Red Wing and Later for ConAgra Foods/Treehouse Foods in Lakeville, Minnesota as an industrial electrician. Blessed with many talents, luck, and, as he would often say: "lots of useless knowledge", he was a light to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Mitch is survived by his best friend and "Honey", Deb (Parsons) Prescott and sons, Mitcheal (Maria Thalacker) Prescott, Evan (Alexas Brunkow) Prescott, and a little granddaughter not yet named, coming June 2017. Father, Virgil Prescott of Kenesaw, Nebraska, Mothers in law, Dian Parsons of McCook, Nebraska, and Marcy Parsons of Vancouver, Washington. Sister Lucinda(Richard)Rodriguez of West Bountiful, Utah, Brother Scott(Deb)Prescott of Minden, Nebraska, and sister Becky(Jerry)Franks of Grand Island, Nebraska. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Eva "Jane" Ash, father-in law, Jim Parsons, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.
