Robert J. Cliff

Robert Joseph Cliff, 69, of Lake City passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital, from complications of ALS. He was born November 6, 1947 in Wabasha to Joseph and Helen (Rauchman) Cliff. He was baptized at St. Felix Catholic Church in Wabasha. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City in 1965 and graduated from Winona State University. He served in the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division Air Mobile in Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged in October 1971 earning the Bronze Star Medal. On July 14, 1973 he married Nancy Gaudian in Paullina, IA. They made their home in Lake City and he worked at Federal Mogal for over 30 years until retiring in April of 2008. Bob loved to golf, hunt, fish, and spend time with his family and friends.

He is survived by wife, Nancy of Lake City; three daughters, Sarah Moen (Dr. Chris Klingele) of Rochester, Jacquelyn (Josh) Floan of Lakeville, Jennifer (Alex) Jacquart of Winona; three grandchildren, Chloe Floan, Isaac Moen, and Kelton Floan; sister, Cathy (Ron) Kirkeby of Winona; two sisters-in-law, Madelyn (Mike) Erickson of Cross Lake, MN and Luanne (Kelly) Nieuwenhuis of Primghar, IA; in-laws, Clarence and Joann Gaudian of Spencer, IA; nephews and nieces, Cory Kirkeby, Kyle Kirkeby (his daughter Lyla), Grant (Jessica)Erickson (her daughter Grace), Neil Erickson, Dr. Jesse Nieuwenhuis, Paige Nieuwenhuis, Andrea Nieuwenhuis, and Perri Nieuwenhuis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Helen Cliff.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church with Reverend Dr. Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday May 2, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel in Lake City and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
