Ronald Lee Danckwart

Ronald Lee Danckwart, age 64, of Lake City passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at St. Brigid's at Hi-Park in Red Wing after a 19 month battle with cancer. He was born on May 21, 1950 at the Lake City Hospital to Walter and Annetta (Yotter) Danckwart. Ron attended St. John's Elementary and Lake City public schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to attend Augsburg College and Brown Institute. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Wild, Twins, and the University of Minnesota. He also loved to read. Most of all, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Annetta Danckwart of Lake City; daughter, Shavon Anderson of Farmington; four grandchildren, Kylee Burr and Drake, Garrett, and Ean Anderson; brother, Dan (Teri) Danckwart of Minneapolis; niece, Katie Danckwart of Vicenza, Italy; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and a son-in-law, Benjamin.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City with Reverend Scott Fiege officiating. Burial will follow at Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Peterson Chapel, Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church.
