Stanley Curtis Diercks

March 8, 1935 — November 24, 2017

Stanley C. Diercks, 82, of Red Wing, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017, at his home in Red Wing from cancer. He was born March 8, 1935 in Goodhue County, Minnesota to Clarence and Inez (Halverson) Diercks. He was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Red Wing and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1953. He enlisted in the Naval Air Reserves in 1953 and retired in 1961. He was on stand-by reserves from 1961-67. He worked for the Red Wing Shoe Company for several years. On June 29, 1957, he was united in marriage to Joyce Gloria Larson in Pepin County at the Pepin Hill Free Church and together they raised three children. While living in Lund, Wisconsin, he was a volunteer firefighter. After Red Wing Shoe, he went to Meyers Industries (now Trinity), where he retired in 2000. Upon retirement, he went to work part time at Econo Foods-Burnside in Red Wing, where he enjoyed seeing and talking with people. Moving many times over the years, they always found a Covenant Church to attend.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 60 years; children, Sherri (Warren) Fox and Scott Diercks both of Ellsworth, Wisc. and Ann Diercks of Red Wing; grandchildren, Shawn (Sara) Enberg, Corey (Sadie) Enberg, Christine (Jeremy) Pribbernow, Justin (Stephanie) Diercks, Britney (Tony) Diermeier, Danielle Diercks, Katlyn Diercks and Sam Diercks; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Bonnie Peterson of Ellsworth, Wisc.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois Adams.
