Zelda Mary Cureton

May 18, 1944 — April 10, 2014

Zelda Mary Cureton, age 69, of Pine Island passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Red Wing Mayo Health Systems. She was born on May 18, 1944 in Wabasha to George and Esther (Koelmel) Copley. She grew up in Red Wing and Lake City with her family. On August 6, 1961, she married Ted Sarazin Sr. in Iowa. They later divorced. She then married Elmer Cureton July 8. 1983, they later divorced. Over the years she worked at Cannon Equipment in Cannon Falls, Conagra Foods in Lakeville, and finally retired from Norwood Promotional in Red Wing in 2005. Zelda then moved to Pine Island. She enjoyed handcrafts such as crocheting, baking, watching the Minnesota Vikings, and most of all spending time to her family and going to Treasure Island.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Kay (Mike) Krause of Red Wing and Vicky (Tony) Harris of Dennison; one son, Ted Sarazin, Jr., of Dennison; five grandchildren, Michael and Marlene Krause, and Danny (Samantha), Ricky, and Robby Duncan; four great-grandchildren, Nicoli, Miranda, Dylan, and Hailey; special friend, Roger Ronnigen of Pine Island; three brothers, Duaine (Diane) of Zumbrota, Viryle (Carol) of Zumbrota, and Rocky (Michelle) Copley of Nelson, WI; six sisters, Mary Harold of Apache Junction, AZ, Donna (Randy) Wiseman of Southbury, CT, Darlene Nelson of Ellsworth, WI, Marci (Virgil) Luhmann of Mazeppa, Rose Borgschatz of Zumbrota, and Char (Douglas) Mercer of Byron; and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Zelda was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Delano, Harold, Curtis, and Eugene Copley; and two sisters, Geraldine Ward and Ardena Copley.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at United Methodist Church in Lake City with Reverend David Neil officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Wabasha. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to the family of Zelda Cureton. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.mahnfamilyfuneralhome.com.
