In 1986, John Mahn purchased the Bodelson Funeral Home from Don and Edla Bodelson, who had owned it since 1960. Two years later, in 1988, the funeral home was remodeled and the name was changed to Bodelson-Mahn Funeral Home.
The changes continued throughout the final decade of the century. In 1991 the Peterson Funeral Home was purchased from Shelly Peterson. Later in the year a new funeral home was built in Lake City. In 1992 the Anderson Funeral Home in Lake City was purchased from Bill Anderson. The two businesses were merged and ran out of the new facility as the Anderson-Peterson Chapel. In 1996 James Lohman's funeral home businesses in Zumbrota, Wanamingo, and Goodhue were purchased. The Bodelson- Mahn Chapel was remodeled to its current condition in 1997. A new funeral home was constructed in Zumbrota in 1998. Also that year the Mahler Funeral Home was purchased from Robert Mahler and the location was remodeled. In 1999 a former church building was purchased and remodeled to become the Rochester Chapel.
Today, just as before, the staff members of each of these funeral homes are committed to excellence in service. We welcome the opportunity to exceed your expectations, and provide professional services, compassion, and understanding during your time of loss.
