Anna "Jane" Scheffler
June 28, 1929 — July 24, 2017
Anna "Jane" Scheffler, age 88, formerly of Zumbrota, died on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Seminary Home in Red Wing. The funeral service will be on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota with Pastor Wayne Schoch officiating. The visitation will be on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Mahn Family Funeral Home - Larson Chapel in Zumbrota and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will be at a later date.
Anna "Jane" Scheffler was born on June 28, 1929 at St. John's Hospital in Red Wing to Louis and Anna (Dierecks) Schafer. She attended Country School District 32 in Belvidere Township and graduated from Red Wing High School in 1948. She married Karl H. Scheffler on October 1, 1949 at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Goodhue. She farmed with her husband in Minneola Township for many years and also worked for Dr. Morgan in Wanamingo, cleaning and at the Zumbrota Nursing Home for several years. Jane was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.
Jane enjoyed square dancing and roller skating in her younger years, baking, flower gardening, sewing, embroidery, doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family.
Jane is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Susan) Scheffler and Roger (Nikky) Scheffler both of Zumbrota; one daughter, Elaine (Paul) Burfeind of Lake City; six grandchildren, Tony (Maizie) Scheffler, Jason (Tracy) Scheffler, Dustin (Jolene ) Scheffler, Mitchell (Heather) Burfeind, Lisa (Trevor) Dicke and Karlee Scheffler; two step-grandchildren, Chad and Brooke Swenson; ten great-grandchildren; and one sister, Janet Christopherson of Red Wing.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Karl; brothers, Earl and Roy Schafer; and her parents.
