Ardelle Marie Schulz

Ardelle Marie (Augustine) Schulz, 96, of Goodhue, died of natural causes on January 30, 2019. She was born August 24, 1922 on the family farm in Belvidere Township to Charles and Emma Augustine, the oldest of three children. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Belvidere. She graduated in 1939 from Lincoln High School in Lake City at the age of 16. She completed her associate's degree from Winona State University in 1943 and later acquired her degree from Wisconsin State University in 1970. Ardelle was united in marriage on July 12, 1947 to Willard Schulz. They were married for 25 years and later divorced. Teaching was her passion and she taught at several schools prior to teaching the first grade at Goodhue Elementary School. She retired from the Goodhue School District in 1990 after teaching for 20 years. She belonged to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Goodhue. Her hobbies included teaching, reading, baking, dancing, crossword puzzles, playing on the computer and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four children, Willard "Bill" (Joyce Thomforde) Schulz of Goodhue, Todd (JoAnn Quade) Schulz of Zumbrota, Barbara (Alan) Mollenhauer of Utah and Brenda (Wayne) Gadient of Goodhue; one sister, Joan (Donald) Olson; she was affectionately called Grandma Del by 16 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Augustine; and sister-in-law Loraine Augustine; brother-in-law, Donald Olson.
