Arlene F. "Shorty" Fredrickson age 91, of Zumbrota died suddenly on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems - Rochester, St. Marys Campus. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Minneola Lutheran Church in rural Zumbrota with Pastor Hannah Bergstrom de Leon officiating. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arlene Florence Zeller was born on August 15, 1927 in Cherry Grove Township, Goodhue County, MN to Kenneth and Edna (Peterson) Zeller. Arlene graduated from Wanamingo High School in 1944. Arlene attended the Glenwood Hills Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and graduated in 1945. On June 10, 1950 she married Norris E. Fredrickson at Minneola Lutheran Church. After living in Renton, WA for a short time, they made their home in Zumbrota. She worked at St. Marys Hospital and Dr. Oliver Larson's Medical practice in Zumbrota for many years. Arlene and Norrie enjoyed twenty three years of wintering in Arizona. Arlene enjoyed baking bread and chocolate chip cookies, knitting, sewing, quilting group at Minneola Lutheran Church, playing bridge and attending coffee parties.
Arlene is survived by her children, Nancy (Paul) Savre of Eagan, Mary (Dennis Meyer) Fredrickson of Ripon, WI, Robert (Becky) Fredrickson of Burnsville, Rebecca (Brian) Buck of Zumbrota and Susan (Tom) Bugliosi of Pewaukee, WI; grandchildren, Jessica (Andy) Carney, Julie (Boris) Axelrod, Jenelle (Mike) Kraus, Nels (Alanna) Fredrickson, Betsy (Steph) Fredrickson, and Hans Fredrickson, Emily (Tim) Frank, Jennifer (Ben) Lindquist, Sara, Andrew and Nicholas Bugliosi; step grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Shuba, Dana (Anthony) Pisculich, Kristen (Wes) Ayres, Alex (Alexis) Meyer and Breanne Meyer; great grandchildren; Maya, Logan and Ava Carney, Samson and Hanon Axelrod, Ethan and Everett Kraus, Espen Fredrickson, Carson and Summer Frank, Jackson and Noah Lindquist, Logan and Chloe Shuba and Noah, Avery and Sawyer Pisculish, Otto and Oberon Ayres; brother, Roland Zeller of Fridley and sister, Adrienne Nodland of Zumbrota.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Norris and brother, Bill Zeller.
Memorials are preferred to Minneola Lutheran Church.
