Beryl Marilyn Barnes

October 9, 1930 — December 7, 2018

Beryl Marilyn Bencker Barnes, age 88, died unexpectedly after a fall in her home on December 7, 2018. Beryl was born October 9, 1930 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Earl Herbert Bencker and Ruth Madonna (Giesea) Bencker Eckberg. Raised in Robbinsdale, she graduated from Robbinsdale High School June 3, 1948. She married David J. Barnes on November 20, 1948. They had 2 children, David E. (1949) and Colleen J. (1953) and moved to Red Wing in 1954. After moving to town Beryl enjoyed employment at Marigold Dairy Bar serving ice cream to young and old, students and town residents. After the Marigold, she was dedicated to the employment of the Red Wing Shoe Company Office from 1961 until retirement in 1995. Beryl had spunk, the gift of gab and enjoyed music, dancing and clapping her hands to the beat. One day Beryl shared with her daughter the fact that she had been so busy lately, she'd forgotten to tell dad (recently deceased) good morning and has had no time to dance to her Christmas music before breakfast. What can be better than being so happy in life that you can tell someone you love (past or present) good morning, I love you, and then dance before breakfast? That was Beryl.

She is survived by her son David E. (Josie) Barnes of Sacramento, California and her daughter, Colleen Anderson of Red Wing, Minnesota. Four grandchildren, Melissa Murphy, Samuel Anderson, Jesse (Kevin) Barnes, Casey (Melinda) Barnes, and Grand Daughter-in-law Ann Radabaugh Anderson Huppert. Beryl enjoyed seven great-grandchildren that made her life even more complete.
She was preceded in death by her husband David J., April 20, 2015 and grandson Travis R. Anderson, July 3, 2015.
