Carrie Rene Ganz, 61, of Pine Island, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 23rd. She was born on March 2, 1959 to Delwin and Shirley Roemer, in St. Paul MN. She graduated from Park High School and following graduation attended Winona State, where she met her husband Jim Ganz. She spent the next 30 years working at the phone company, starting off in the office and finishing her career as a cable technician. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cherished visiting her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing the piano, biking, and gardening. Her faith was very important and she was an active member of the Church of St. Michael for the last 40 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Delwin and Shirley Roemer, brother Tony Roemer, and mother-in-law Ethelyn Ganz.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Ganz; children, Jamie (Jackie) Ganz; Kelly (Jeremy) Stakely; Josh (Linda) Ganz; Travis Ganz; Michael (Bethany) Ganz; grandchildren, Addisyn and Austen Ganz; Anya and Kiera Stakely; and Amaya and Reya Ganz; her stepmother, Kathy Roemer; her brothers and sisters, Terry Roemer; Pam (Bob La Nassa) Roemer; Randy (Linda Kelly) Roemer; Troy (Sheryl) Roemer; Nick (Jenny) Roemer; Brad (Michelle) Roemer; and Colleen Roemer.

A private funeral Mass will be held at the Church of Saint Michael in Pine Island, Minnesota on Wednesday, May 27. The Rosary will be said at 12:30 p.m., with Mass to follow at 1 p.m. The Mass will be live-streamed at: https://www.facebook.com/StMichaelPineIsland. The burial and a celebration of life will be held on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the following charities selected by Carrie: Church of Saint Michael in Pine Island, Minnesota, Pine Haven Nursing Home in Pine Island, Minnesota, and Brains Together for a Cure.
