Charles Marvin Vold

Charles "Chuck" Marvin Vold, 72, of Red Wing, died Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Red Wing Health Care Community. He was born November 7, 1944 in Wanamingo Township to Ole and Marion (Gunderson) Vold. He grew up in small town, rural Minnesota before meeting his future wife, Terri in Red Wing. The two were married on June 24, 1964 at Aspelund Emmanuel Lutheran Church and together they raised two children in Red Wing. Chuck loved to tinker and to fix things, especially cars. He was the go-to guy for help with car troubles. He had a great sense of humor and loved to entertain. Most of all, he was close to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made it a point to make it to as many of his grandkids sporting events as possible, even if it meant traveling to multiple cities around the state on the same day.
He will be missed by many, including his wife, Terri; son, Jeffrey (Bettina) of Martell, Wis.; daughter, Tammie (Gary) Trunkel of Ellsworth, Wis.; 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Katie, Emily, Emma, Kassidy, Kaleb and Kody; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Gavin; brother, Joel (Janet) Vold of Cannon Falls; sisters, Christine Sholing of Cannon Falls, Karen Johnson of Red Wing, Joanne Salefske of Stewartville, Ill. and Sonja (Mike) Landon of Cannon Falls; sister-in-law, Donna Vold of West Bend Wis.; as well as many nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin; sisters, Diane Murphy and Katherine Roth; one niece, Kelly Sholing; brother-in-law, Donnie Sholing.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m., noon, on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing with Pastor Brian Beaver officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial at Oakwood. Assisting the family as pallbearers will be Jeffrey Vold, Gary Trunkel, Trey Skulski, Ronnie Reeverts, Randy Reeverts and Jason Reeverts.
