Denney Edward Tilbury

Denney Edward Tilbury, 71, of Red Wing, died Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Gardens of Cannon Falls. He was born October 18, 1948 to Donald and Joyce (Eberhart) Tilbury in Rochester, Minn. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Pine Island High School. He went on to a vocational technical school in Mankato where he met his wife. Denney married Marge Uherka on June 27, 1970. Together, they raised two children. The couple later divorced but remained very close friends. Denney enjoyed collecting Red Wing pottery, listening to music and watching the birds. He was happiest at home with his Boston terrier, Punkey, by his side.
He is survived by his sons; Darren Tilbury of Duluth and Dannen Tilbury of St. Louis Park; his former wife, Marge Tilbury of Silver Bay; brothers, Richard (Sally) Tilbury of High Point, North Carolina and David (Karou) of Kent, Washington; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Punkey.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2020 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel, Red Wing, with Pastor Katie Matson-Daley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to NAMI Minnesota (https://namimn.org/) or The Trevor Project (https://www.thetrevorproject.org/).
