Diana Rae Schlinger

Diana R. (Gross) Schlinger, 75, of Pine Island passed away Sunday March 10, 2019 at Pine Haven Care Center.
She was born November 2, 1943, in Hayfield, MN, to Ray and Mae (Johnson) Gross. Diana was raised on the family farm and graduated from Hayfield High School in 1961. She worked various jobs before marriage and then became a full time homemaker.
She married Daryl Schlinger on January 26th, 1963. After marriage they lived in Blooming Prairie, MN, and Mantorville, MN. They moved to Pine Island in 1966.
Diana enjoyed home decorating, cross stitching, cross word puzzles, spending time with family, grandchildren and favorite dog, Dusty. She was a longtime member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island.
Diana is survived by her husband of 56 years, Daryl; Four children, Daniel (Peggy) Schlinger, of Apache Junction, Arizona, Danelle (Mark) McGraw of Rosemount, MN, Darwin (Kim) Schlinger of Cottage Grove, MN and Darin Schlinger of Rochester, MN; Six grand kids, Ryan, Megan, Michael, Kyle, Lea and Zachary; brother, Kenneth (Dora) Gross of Hayfield, MN, sisters Kathy Voight of Hayfield, and Linda (Craig) Earley of Preston, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mae Gross; sister Nyliene and three nephews.
Diana's funeral service will be held Friday, March 15th, at Saint Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island, 214 3rd Street SW. Visitation at church from 9 to 11 a.m. Service at 11:00 a.m. with lunch and social time after church service. Burial will be planned at a later date.
