Doloris Mae Stein, age 85, of Rochester, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at Madonna Towers in Rochester.
Doloris Mae Daniel was born May 6, 1932 in Winona, MN to Cornelius and Susan (Merchlewitz) Daniel. She was raised in Stockton, MN and graduated from Cotter High School in Winona in 1950. She moved to Minneapolis where she worked for the State of Minnesota and then Dayton's department store. On Jan. 17, 1953 she married Louis Arthur Stein in Minnesota City, MN. The couple made their home in Minneapolis where Doloris was a mother of four and a homemaker. After her husband died in 1976 Doloris moved to Rochester in 1982 where she worked in housekeeping services and child care.
Doloris moved to Mazeppa, MN in 1993 where she joined Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She worked for the church in housekeeping services and was a member of the Women's Circles. Doloris moved to Madonna Meadows in Rochester in 2014 after suffering a stroke.
Doloris thoroughly enjoyed reading, researching family genealogy, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, visiting with family and traveling.
Survivors include her son Michael L. (Teresa) Stein of Siren, WI; two daughters, Cynthia K. Bothum of Minneapolis, MN; and Janet M. (Merlin) Mulholland of Rochester, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; her sister Bonita A. (Kenneth) Peterson of Winona, MN; her brother Harold E. Daniel (Diane) of Altura, MN; her sister-in-law Maxine Daniel of Winona, MN. Doloris was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her daughter Julie A. Rothering, and her brother Jerome A. Daniel.
The funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 17th at the Mahn Family Funeral Home-Rochester Chapel, with Father Will Thompson officiating the service.
