Donna Mae Vieths, 91, of Red Wing, died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Crispin Living Community. She was born June 3, 1927, in Wacouta, to George and Rose (Grote) Arden and attended country schools. On November 4, 1943, she was united in marriage to Maynard Vieths and they farmed in Belvidere until 1975, when Maynard passed away. Donna moved to Red Wing in 1979 and had worked at various places including the Parkway Motel, Haven Homes and Bev's Cafe. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and she enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and canning and spending time with her family, grandchildren and her many great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sharon) of Kenyon, Shirley (Delmar) Roschen of Red Wing, Audrey (Jerry) Novek of Goodhue, Sandy (Mike) Wood of Red Wing, Larry (Nancy) Vieths of Goodhue, Keith Vieths of Red Wing, Lynette (Ron) Hanson of Welch and Tony (Jean) Vieths of Goodhue; 23 grandchildren 37 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Doraine Hernlem of Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Michael and siblings, Dorman, Donnie and Delbert Arden and Doris Gernentz.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Karl Rydholm officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Hay Creek. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Red Wing Hospice.
