Edith Elizabeth Albrecht

Edith Johnson Albrecht, 105, passed away on June 27, 2018. She was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin on September 27, 1912. Edith was the daughter of Carl and Rose Kretschmer. She was married on May 18, 1933 to Warner Johnson of Rochester. They bought a farm in Pleasant Grove township and raised purebred Holstein cattle until his death in 1956, when she moved to Rochester. She met Paul Albrecht while square dancing at the senior center and they were married February 26, 1983, and continued to dance until his death in 1993.



She is survived by four children, Robert (Sandra) Johnson, Carol (Don) Sabatke, Howard (Diane) Johnson, and Marilyn (John) Whelan, all of Rochester, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, an infant son, Richard, a daughter, Shirley, and granddaughter, Michelle.



A celebration of life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 512 - 3rd Street SW, in Rochester on Saturday June 30, 2018 at 3:00 PM. The family would like to thank The Homestead and Mayo Hospice for their excellent care. If so desired, memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church of Rochester or Mayo Hospice.
