Elizabeth "Betty" Anna Kutschied, 94, died peacefully of natural causes Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Loving Residence in Red Wing, where she had resided since 2015. She was born November 17, 1924 in Red Wing to Albert and Ella Elizabeth (Staehli) Schultz. Elizabeth was baptized the day she was born and confirmed April 2, 1939 into the Lutheran faith at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Wing. She graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1943. Betty married Robert "Bob" Henn on May 2, 1946. The couple had five children and divorced in 1971. Betty retired in 1993 after many years of caring for people at the Red Wing Nursing Home as a nursing assistant. Following retirement, she was dedicated to the care of her own mother who managed, with Betty's help, to remain in her home until just prior to her death at age 105. Later, she was of great assistance to her brother Vaugh as he aged.
Betty is survived by her identical twin sister, Eleanor "Bonnie" Caroline Swanson of Winona; sons, Dennis Henn of Hager City and Don (Lynn Thompson) Henn of Rochester; daughters, Sandra (Rodger) Henn Pirius of Red Wing and Lisa (Larry) Henn Talbert of Palmer, Alaska; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda Henn Swanson; son-in-law, Donald Swanson; her husband, Arthur Kutschied Sr.; and her brothers, Glenn, Vaughn, and Leslie Schultz.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
